How much internal damage would occur to a Stainless Steel muffler (out of a 2000 Expedition) if the entire truck burned to the ground?
Can a muffler in this condition be used and be expected to perform OK even though the surrounding truck is no more? It otherwise looks like it is in fine condition.
Prevent yourself any trouble and just buy a flowmaster muffler, they are cheap. Just because it's "made" for a V-8 doesn't mean anything. Ford uses the same muffler for the 4.9L and 5.0L I believe. The 5.8L's is similar but with dual pipes.
