It's been a while. We need an in detailed recap of what parts your trying to merge.
What intake/T-body are you using? What connectors are wrong?

the motor is just the way it came out of the mustang, intake, tb, everything.
got a 96 5.8 harness and computer.
all iv got so far on the harness that plugs up is the injectors, coil, and dist. everything else is different.
if theres anything that isnt nesseceray to hook up and it wont hurt the way it runs thats fine.
i really need to get this done asap

So then the mustang engine doesn't have a missfire sensor?
The TB should be the same plug.
Maybe a mustang person will chime in. I know A LOT about the 5.8 OBDII harness but not much about mustang sensors.

If you put a 5.0 truck intake on the HO then you won't have any problem with connectors not matching up. You also have to use a truck distributor because of the remote TFI module, do you have on of those already?

Im not sure if it has a missfire sensor or not. Theres a long wire coming off the end of the driveres side of the harness that goes to the lower part of the motor that wont plug in. the coolant conector is different. One of the tb conectors are different. The smaller conector on the side of the coil wont fit. The egr one wont fit and a couple more I cant remember wont fit. The only ones that do are the ones I listed in my earlier reply.

Id really like to make what I got work. Besides the harness I tried to put on today the motor is exactly as it sat in the mustang. Im assuming most of my problems are a obd2 harness on a obd motor. I really dont want to spend anymore money at the junkyard.

Well.. you really haven't got a lot of choices. As it stands you're gonna have to hack up the harness you got to make it work with the car sensors locations/connectors so dollars and time spent there, or swap on a truck intake and plug everything in.. again more $$ but you'll have an intact(reliable) harness. I think you still got wiring issues to deal with between the block connectors and the computer but you're gonna have those regardless what you do at the motor. Make no mistake this is no simple swap.

well got about 90% of the wireing figured out. the pins themselves were pretty much the same but the connectors were shaped different. so i broke them and just put the pins in and im gona use electical tape. it should work i think lol
think im not even gonna bother with the egr. dont care about codes.
had to take the smog pump off because the motor wouldnt fit with it in that location.

now im on to vaccum, any help there would be appritiated.

This is what a '96 5.8L would have.

X goes to the heater/ac controls

I'm not sure but as long as you don't have any vacuum leaks then it's pretty lenient.

Been drivin the truck everyday for a week now. Runing really rough, thought it was a vaccum problem but everry line is hooked up or pluged. could it be the egr? Its on but not pluged in as I have no connector on the truck harness to plug it into. It sounds like it has a huge cam...but it dosnt. Has no low wend power and bogs down when u give it a heavy foot when it should down shift. it just feel like it has no ***** when I know for a fact its not a stock motor and is around 350hp
