I just want to add that the common speed control servos and cable assemblies that seem to fit 5.8s, 5.0s and 4.9s DO NOT work on 7.5s.
I bought a setup from ebay and while it worked as in functioned, the cable is not long enough to allow the servo to be mounted in the correct location. It seems the cable is about 10-12" too short.

So, I need to find a 7.5 specific servo now...
I've swapped cables from servos before. It's tricky but if you have patience it can be done.
Maybe you could buy the cable for a 7.5?

Probably could. This servo had one of the 3 mount bolts broken off in the housing however and the ebayer offered a refund. I would have overlooked it had it fit properly. It also did not allow the throttle to return to idle when I tested it (zip tied to the master cyl) to make sure my steering wheel pad and wiring was fine. This made for an exciting few seconds when I approached an intersection....
The cable was not binding due to bending too tightly or anything but I realize zip tied to a master cyl was not how it was designed to work LOL
I have a 96 F250, 5.7L, E40D trans. I have installed the servo unit, wheel, and used the master cyl switch to jumper. Mine doesn't seem to even turn on, much less work. Where should I start troubleshooting?
Bringing back the dead... Look at the brake pedal releasse and clutch switches first. Then fuses. Then hornpad buttons. Then look in your wallet.
I know this is an older post, bust I am in need of some help. I am going to make an attempt to install cruise on my 96 f150 auto 4x4. Can someone tell me what all I will need. I know I need the steering wheel ( will the original air bag work or does the steering wheel with cruise use a different one), brake master cylinder w/pressure switch, & cruise servo. Will I need to get a different brake light switch, clock spring, or anything else? Also will I need to install any fuses or relays. If someone has done this and can point me in the right direction it will be greatly appreciated.

All you NEED, is the steering wheel with the cruise controls(reuse your air bag), cruise servo with cable and Jumper the plug by the master cylinder

Diesel_Brad just wanted to thank you for your help. Went to the local pick and save after work today and got everything for just over $30. Installed it in about a hour. Extremely simple and worked perfectly. Thanks again.
I had a question and wanted to get some others opinions. I installed the cruise control earlier. The only issue I am having is I live in an area where there are nothing but hills and with the cruise control engaged it seems to loose speed as initially climbing the hills then accelerates pretty aggressively to regain speed. Causing hard downshifts. Is there any fix for this or is it is what it is kind of thing?

That is how cruise works. It cannot anticipate the hill starting or ending
My '87 has the wheel and servo both wired into the factory harness. BUT, There is no MC switch or wire for it. Just BOO. What's with that and, My cable has broke and needs replaced. Does the entire servo need replaced or can I just replace the cable?
You can replace JUST the cable. I've done it because my servo went bad once and I had another servo with a corroded cable. I don't think they are meant to be changed but if you have patience it can be done.
I'll see if I can find one there. Only one yard close to me has a bricknose truck. Gotta wait though. Bought a new POS cable yesterday after using undersize and junk cables for the longest to crank and wouldn't you know it, I spun the solenoid and now its dead. Went from cranking slow to not at all.....Gotta love it.
Is there any kind of instructions to replace the servo cable?
