I'm not certain that the recall applies to the '05s but I would check in to it.
Just call the service department with your VIN# and they can tell you if it needs to be done.

Ford cruise control deactivation switches

The switch is simple to change.
However if your vehicle is eligible have the dealer do the change.
It sounds as if the switch on the master cylinder is acting up.

i just talk to dealer and 05 ford e-150 its dosnt have recall on cruise controll so i order it MOTORCRAFT SW-6349 and i will change it by myself will see if this will help, btw its just unscrew old one and put the new in it ? i dont have to worry about braking fluid or something? let me know if you know how to do it looks simple but i like to make sure to not put some air in brake lines or something thx

Have the new one ready and when you get the old one at the last thread a quick swap should not allow enough air in to make a difference.
