How to replace this bushing?

Found this under the arm of the transmission that runs towards the left frame rail. How would I go about replacing it and what is this part called? I tried to find a part number for it in my parts catalogs, but was unsuccessful. I'd like to get this part locally if possible to save on time, but need the part number or name for cross reference.

Any replacement advice is greatly appreciated.

shaft bushings

I suppose one probably could be found of course you wont find one in pep
boys if I recall its the same (two piece) bushing at least to F6 . Myself
thats a 20min job on my lathe. I would check your local high schools,
machining that, would be on the freshman level. They may charge for the
stock not labor. If you go that route, you will need the shaft, the ball end
bolted on the frame, and whats left of the bushing to take with you. You
may have missed it in the book, its in there.

I may not have this right, but I think what you are looking for is the 'clutch release equalizer shaft busing' part # C2TZ7417A

Ilya,

This probably won't help but I have a place local, Bearings Inc., that probably can get one for me, they can get pretty much anything bearing or bushing related. Have you tried a local industrial place that sells industrial bearings?

I've found I can usually find some generic parts locally at industrial suppliers but, at least in my area, these suppliers are starting to disapear. At one time the Milwaukee was really heavy into manufacturing and but a lot have either been moved overseas or just went out.

To tell the truth, that existing bushing doesn't look "that" bad. It appears that one of the halves has just popped out. Clean up the socket, and the bushings, grease 'em, and go...

51 panel man,

I ordered these from LMC and they are plastic. My original ones were brass or bronze or some metal of that color. Anyways...they sent me 2 packs instead of 1 so I have an extra set. If you want them let me know and I will drop them off in the mail tomorrow.

I just installed mine so I am not sure how long they will last in comaprison to the metal ones but that equalizer bar doesnt rotate very far and I packed mine full of grease.

LMC sent you the WRONG parts, these bushings are not correct for 1948/52's / See post 6 for the correct split BRONZE bushings.

Plastic (they are actually nylon) one piece bushing: C1AA-7543-A / Available from Ford.

Applications: 1965/79 F100/350 & 1961/80 Passenger Cars.

Ilya - If that "popped" out the problem is probably in the Clutch Release Equalizer Shaft (7RT-7503) itself. The "female" end of the shaft can get really worn from years of use, and from not having been lubed real well for a lot of its life. I've pulled several from my donors and most have been badly worn on one side of the indent. I ended up finding a good used one after looking unsuccessfully forever for a NOS one. Maybe Bill can find you one. Stu

7RT-7503 .. Clutch Release Equalizer Shaft / Obsolete

Applications: 1948/52 F1/F6 / Obsolete / One available NOS

Ilya: If you want this little charmer, send me a P/M or email. If I list the source here, someone might snag it.

We have a Bearings, Inc. here, too, Bob. They must be some kind of chain or franchise. Ours has a giant 4 or 5 foot tall ball type roller bearing out in front of their store. I was told it was from our local paper mill that they got a replacement for. Just wondering if yours has something cool like that out front, too?
