The grille shell is the same 1971/72 F100/350 (D2TZ-8200-A replaced D1TZ-8200-A) and has been repro'd. The R/L grille inserts are specific to 1971 or 1972.
The 1972 grille inserts (D2TZ-8150-A right & D2TZ-8151-A left) have been repro'd, but 1971's have not.
The 1970 grille shell and grille inserts are 1970 ONLY.
Hi Bill, Just to clarify. 1970 grilles will not fit on 1967-1972 F250s??
Thanks!
'70 inserts' mounting points are specific to the '70 shell's tabs...
And there are two different types of grille inserts and frames. Early 1970's have right and left specific inserts, the tabs for the left insert are located in a different position within the frame.
Late 1970's have the same inserts left and right (they're actually both right sides), so one cannot install an early left insert into a late 1970's grille frame.
When Ford made this change they supplied the grille inserts with the grille frame as an assembly (D0TZ-8200-D - you bought one a these recently). But the inserts could be bought by themselves.
