Drive Shaft

I need to find the best option for converting drive shaft for 2000 F350 SD FWD dually from 137 in wheel base to 162 in. Thought it would not be too difficult to pick a good used one up out of a bone yard. Not so did national search and found one in Missouri.

Any suggestions on best way to go or places where one can be found.

Cost from Ford dealer new will be 514.00 just would like to get by a little cheaper unless it is worth it. Cost vs benefits I guess.

Thanks in advance Westy:

I would check around locally for a "driveshaft shop" - they can make up a driveshaft to do whatever it is you want it to, and balance it.

You might try asking at your local auto parts store (not the big brand-name ones, a small mom-and-pop type place), or machinist.
