Question 300 inline 6's

Does anybody know the difference between the the 300 4.9l inline 6s that where put in the vehicles in 1976 specifically between the f100, f150,f250 and from what I heard the dump trucks

Cant say for sure, but my guess would be cams and compression if anything... maybe just valve timing.

The "heavy duty" engines in the f600 and higher trucks have a larger exhaust manifold and possibly lower compression pistons than the passenger car 300, but everything else is the same. The f-series pickups all use the smaller exhaust.

Yes. It is a good upgrade from the passenger log manifold.

The 300 was never available in a "passenger car". In vans, yes, trucks, yes, passenger car, no.

The 240 was available in Fullsize Ford cars 65-74 but not the 300.

Sure. We're getting into legal vs descriptive language. Parts catalogs call it a passenger car motor, and most pickups/vans are registered as passenger cars, vs the official truck designation on a ten-ton box truck.

The "ten ton box truck" 300 got the big manifold. The "your grandma would drive it" got the small manifold.

It's simple the 300 never came in a car. Even if it should have!
