Hey guys went out with some friends and did little mudding and went threw a water hole and suck water in the intake. What can I do to get it tp turn over. It act like its stuck please help ASAP thanks in advance
Uh-oh better hope you didn't bend a rod. Water doesn't compress like air does. The water 'hydrolocked' the engine, basically filled a cylinder and with the valves closed the piston can't compress so just stops dead.
If there is no damage, all you have to do is pull the glow plugs and turn it over. The water will spray out of the glow plug holes. Reassemble, cross your fingers, and see if it fires.
If the engine was turning when it hydrolocked, good probability that you bent a rod. The momemtum of crankshaft and bottom end components mass want to keep turning and the piston won't go up further. Something has to give and the rod bends.
Do just as tec suggested, remove the GPs and turin it over. That will give the water a place to go.
Well got the water out but now it overheats thank it done. Got 500.000 miles plus hope its ok had this motor since I was 16 now I am 28 and its been threw a lot. I thank its the second time it had water lock like that by my dad and now me. That is a **** pour design by ford I thank
If I find a motor for a reasonable price here in topeka Kansas I will route the air intake system for Shure. Got a 460 motor that came from a 89 dully f350 would it work if I put a intake and car on it both got c6 trans
I just don't seem to thank its nothing major because it will start right up no noise or nothing. Does not even smoke. Just seems like its cutting out but not to bad just like a little mis or something. Pull the valve cover off. Took the push rods out and check them on a piece of glass and they all seem to be straight. What can I do now
Thanks in advanced
