My speedometer has been not working for the better part of a week now. Here's the situation:
At start up the speedometer doesn't work. Sometimes it never comes on, sometimes it will engage while driving and the doors lock when it kicks in. If it does start working it is only for a little while and will usually stop again.
I took it by the auto parts and their computer wasn't showing any codes. The overdrive light is blinking.
As a guess, I replaced the speed sensor on top of the differential with no luck. same issue. The fuse isn't blown.
I am running Superlift's Tru Speed, and I don't know if these things go bad or what. The fuse on it is still good, but I haven't disconnected it yet to see if that's the culprit... I wanted to check here for any other ideas because that thing is kinda a pain to get to and disconnect.
Just as a follow up in case someone searches for a similar issue-
Turns out my Superlift Truspeed calibrator has in fact bit the dust. I removed it, soldered the original wires back together and I'm back in working order (although with a slightly off speedo).
