Hey guys, well, the 68 project is well under way. the 360 is finally pulled out, and now i'm able to dis assemble the front end to make the repairs and replace some parts. As of now, the grill is off, the bumper is off, the rock guard is loosened, and every bolt is taken out of the core support. The rust damage was worse than i thought, But thankfully it was isolated to the core support, and i'm able to reuse everything else. Now, this comes to another problem that I can't figure out..will i have to take off the outer fenders to pull out the core support? it will not budge at all. If i do have to take them off..how hard is it to realign the outer fenders later? Thank you for your help..im lost!
If the alignment is good now, drill a 1/8-inch hole through an overlap of both panels at an inconspicuous place. Simply reinsert the drill bit to realign the panels upon reassembly.
Works great for re-hanging doors and door hinges too.
Sounds like a neat trick haha thanks! They are aligned very well right now..i just didnt wanna throw anything outta whack if i did have to take them off to get the core support out.
