Engine Swap Harness ?'s

I am currently building a truggy out of my first truck I ever had, a 1992 F150. I swapped out the old drivetrain (4.9Lstraight 6, and auto trans) for a drivetrain out of a 91 f250. It is a 351, auto trans, and manual shift tcase.

I kept everything from the 351, this truck will spend no time on the road what so ever and will be trailered to the trails and orv parks. I completed gutted the interior and it is going to get a roll cage and a dash that is goign to support the steering column. In this dash I am going to put after market gauges and what not in it. If this thing ever gets turn signals or headlights I will wire that up seperately.

I kept the computer from the 351 and already bolted that to the cab. When I pulled the motor I left the entire motor electrical connections plugged in with the exception of the 3 or 4 main harness connectors and same thign with the trans. I have the entire harness stretched out and started removing the protective covering because I wasnt to simplify this harness so it is just enough to make the motor run. I'm sure I will have to wire up a starter solenoid for the starter seperately so that isn't a big issue.

My questions are:
Do I need any of the interior harness to make the drivetrain function properly, and the motor run or can I eliminate that entire big circular plug and terminate the wires from it nicely.

Is there anything I need to hook up besides the (3 or 4) main motor electrical connectors and the trans connectors to the harness+power+grounds+computer.

This thing doesnt need to meet any kind of emission standards so is there anything I can gut off the motor to clean it up?

Only reason I ask is I want to make this as clutter free and minimal looking as possible to eliminate tracking down electrical gremlins and make it look like someone took their time to hook this up. Below is a link to the build thread of the truck and maybe you guys can get a better understanding of what it is that I am doing.

Thank-you very much for any help and suggestions you might have!

You are going to need a speed sensor hooked up. I believe it was originally in the rearend, I didn't go to your build thread to see if you are going to run the original rearend or not.

You need to keep the original gas tanks.

Of course you need to keep the original power wires that fed this system from the dash/fuse box.

I would keep the check engine light in the dash also.

If I were you I would go to Service Manuals, Owner Manuals, Wiring Diagrams, Service Bulletins - Helm Incorporated and see if they sell a wiring harness/electrical diagrams for your truck. They sell the factory ones, and if they have them in stock, they are very good with lots of detail.
