The TC is brand new from TCI also, it is their Saturday Night Special TC....I have been on the phone with them off and on all day.
Started the truck and shifted through all the gears. It goes into Reverse just fine, but in 1 2 or D I have to rev it to 2200 or so then it basically 'neutral drops' into gear.
They had me verify the fluid wasnt too low and had me drop the pan and verify that the linkage nut wasnt loose inside the transmission. Other than that they didnt have any ideas other than pull it out and ship it to Mississippi.
When I disconnect the rear (return) tranny line and start the truck fluid runs out but doesnt 'shoot' out with force. How hard should the fluid shoot out???
I also disconnected both ends of my cooler lines and blew it out with air to make sure there wasnt any blockage at my cooler or anything.
I called a local tranny shop and he said it sounds like the forward clutch is out?? The tranny is under warranty but the warranty does NOT cover shipping to/from Mississippi which will run about $250 round trip.
Does anyone think the problem might be in the valve body? I can order a new streeetfighter valve body cheaper than shipping the whole tranny back to Mississippi.
well guess you have two choices.
shop to TCI so they can try to figure out what the problem is
or
take the thing apart and try to figure out why it isn't working.
It is good that you found the ford transmission forum... smart fellas there.
250 shipping and the rest under warranty, beats you try it yourself and then end up still having to ship it and then they not cover it under warranty cause you got into the trans already?
For what I am sure it cost up front....I would let them fix it or replace it all together.
Once you have the other trans place replace the fwd clutch, I am sure the TCI warranty is done?
