FX4 Payload Number

I'm looking for the stated payload number on the yellow tag sticker on the driver's door. I can't find any of the following configuration locally.

2011/12 FX4
Ecoboost
Long wheel base - 157"
4WD
Max Tow package

If you have this truck, could you post your payload number and the packages/options that your truck has?

I'm trying to gauge this configuration against a similar XLT with the HD Payload package. I prefer the interior of the FX4.

Thanks

Are you looking at the FX4 with max tow package?
If not, I can tell you that the XLT will be at > 2,200 lbs and the FX4 will be at or below 1,300 lbs, so I am sure the difference will be > 900 lbs. The FX4 with max tow should be around 1,700 lbs.
Hope somebody else can give you more exact numbers. My XLT with almost everything that was available in terms of options is at 2,238 lbs.

Ford's payload chart shows three packages for the 157" 4x4 Ecoboost trucks.

7350 GVWR = 1560 in payload

7700 = 1840

8200 = 2310

I'm sure that the addition or subtraction of certain equipment will slightly affect these numbers. But it's a good base line to start from.

Oops, I did mean to add the Max Tow package as part of the build. I'm torn between a Max Tow FX4 and an HD Payload XLT. I much prefer the FX4 interior.

I was in the same boat. I would have preferred the FX4 package, but I needed HD payload, and I really wanted the third seat in the front (frequently needed). So the XLT HD won.

I don't think Fx4 or XLT packages make a difference as far as capacities go. From looking at the specs you'll get 3.73 gears in the Fx4 package or XLT with the Max Tow Package. All the specs I see are based on engine/cab/drivetrain/wheelbase combinations. An Ecoboost, 157 in WB, 4x4, SuperCrew equipped with Max Tow will have a cargo capacity of 1840 lbs and a tow capacity of 11,100 lbs. That cargo capacity number jumps to 2280 lbs with just the HD Payload package, but it's unclear if HD Payload and Max Tow are available on the same 4x4 vehicle.

I have my builds set for an FX4 Max Tow and an XLT HD Payload. I don't have a trailer now, and we don't expect a large trailer in the near future.

So, buy for 'now' (FX4), or buy for 'possible' future (XLT)? Even with the XLT, we could still end up with a trailer that requires us to move up to 3/4 or 1 ton.

Either way, it looks like the truck will have to be built.

I verified the payload on an FX4 with the Max Tow package today as 1738#. I believe this number includes a full tank of gas and a 150# driver.

Here is the window sticker, if you're wondering about what options.

truck guy, the XLT is available with the HD payload package which adds 500 lbs to the GVWR.
Besides that, an XLT will generally have a higher payload number because of fewer options, and therefore being a lighter truck with the same GVWR. The differences are surprising, sometimes. What you quoted are the "max" numbers for a certain cab, drive train and wheel base truck, independent of trim level. Pretty much no truck will realistically be shipped with those numbers on the door sticker.

Every option added changes your payload, your trucks final payload is on this sticker in the drivers door.

payload is combined weight of people and cargo, including toung weight if towing.
