Lariat Differential Options

I've been told by some kind folks on an earlier post that there are some issues with the accuracy when you build an F-150 on Ford's web site. Since I like the chrome package I decided to move from the FX4 to the Lariat. The online builder lets me setup a SuperCrew 4x4 6.5 bed 5.4 and a 3.73 rear. That package was rated for 9700lbs. My question is whether it is actually offered with a 3.73 rear?

Having ordered a 2010, I am not EXACTLY sure of the diffy options, but I do believe the only model that comes standard with the 3.73 is the FX4 and the only way to get it on any other model is to get the Max Tow Package

It sure is and with that axle ratio it comes standard with the max trailer tow pack.

But watch your payload rateings if you are towing because your payload could be as low as 1000lb depending on how you build the truck and what options you have. Which means with you in the truck and a full tank of fuel you would have about 800lb of payload and at 10% tounge weight thats a max of 8000lb trailer. Add anymore people in the truck on the journey and your payload will take a massive hit.

Thanks for the info guys, now that you mentioned it I did notice it automatically added the Max Tow package. Understood about the payload. Most people fail to factor in gear, gas, passengers, etc which all affects the botom line. I have a 30' ultra-light camper that weighs in at about 5600lbs dry. My current tow vehicle is a 2000 Expo with a 5.4 and it handles it well. I believe the rating on it was for 7300lbs as equipped. However we are looking at a new boat in about two years and that weighed in around 6200 dry
