Like said, thick skin is necessary. Rick is extremely smart about OBS's and has helped a lot of people including me.

Its pretty simple . If you have a fly by wire system , you need to have something that tells the PCM that you are not pressing on the go pedal . Cables have springs to return to idle . Other wise you need a throttle override system (TORS )

Any current source for IVS

Hey, a newbie here. Great forum. I realize this thread is kind of old. I am in need of a ss22bw32-330y. I went to the sight suggested but I really don't need 125 of them. Just a couple would be fine. I've had the truck for about a week in which time I have experiance a surge when cracking the throttle to start moving. I thought I just had to get used to the 'feel' which I have to some degree. Today however I lost power, got it back, lost it, got it back and so on.Every time I would .lose control of the throttle the check engine light would come on. Ok so now in reading some of the post here and doing a little investigative work on my own I believe I have narrowed it to this switch. I really, really, really don't want to buy 125 or a new throttle pedal assembly. So any suggestions?????/

OK so I went back and read all the posts and I guess I'm in the same boat as everyone else,. SOL Can't even run to Radio Shack anymore. Seemed to have got it working OK for the time being with a little WD-40, but I guess I start pricing the whole pedal assembly.

I have an extra that I could sell you for whatever I paid for it which was not much.

I believe one way you could check to see if it is the culprit would be to unplug the IVS switch once the truck is running and see if it still does it. Keep in mind that this switch is a fail safe in case the rheostats stuck open so I wouldn't drive it long without it. We wouldn't want your truck to run away on ya. Perhaps someone else can confirm if this is all correct? It's been awhile since I pulled the powerstroke out of my old ford and my memory is fuzzy.

I found the same site and agree - I didn't want to buy 125! Since the TPS is available I wouldn't see how a vendor could go wrong with buying the quantity reselling. The whole peddle assembly is unnecessary when all is needed is the IVS! I hate the thought in buying the Dorman unit and get depressed thinking about the OEM product due to the price.

The PCM will not fuel the engine above idle speed with the IVS disconnected.

Stokes thanks for your offer. I seemed to have cured it for the time being. Drove all day today with no problems. I've got to get that pedal tuned though. The instant surge when starting out can't be good for the drive train. Hope to get to it this weekend.

You could just remove the switch from the pedal altogether and mount it under the dash. Click it once every time you start the truck and you'll be good to go. Mine is been this way for three years

Thanks I couldn't remember if it needed to remain open or closed to drive after it started, either way sounds like the OP has it figured out.

that's a good theft deterrent too.
