Hmmm, maybe I will wire tie them under the dash near the pedal with a note of what they are for. LOL
Not a bad idea. Maybe I should wire tie all my extra parts somewhere close to where they would go. IDM tied to the fender, 2 cps's on the radiator hose, starter and alternator tied to the frame, box of fuses glued to the dash, fuel filter taped on top of the filter housing, etc....
I'd be able to stick more stuff under the seat then!
I've noticed for a while that my truck is a bit herky jerky and I can hear a clicking noise in my pedal. When I get my IVS in the other day I played with them and they made that same noise. I'm assuming I need to blueprint my pedal. According to my information one just drills and taps the stop on the IVS clicker for a 10/32 machine screw and adjusts it in and out accordingly. Is there anything else that I need to do?
That link I posted on page 2 is the only information I can give you. I'm gonna try that this winter. They show a way to do it without AE on page 5 of the thread I think.
I usually just bend the little metal tab that activates the IVS. Get under there with a little crescent wrench and adjust it to fit over the metal tab then bend it a little at a time. I've not had a problem doing it that way and you don't have to remove the pedal assembly. You just want to make it so that the IVS clicks as soon as you start to move the pedal. Mine is nice and smooth now.
crap - I just read through this whole thread only to get to the end and be disappointed that I, too, missed the boat!
I think my IVS has just started sticking. its weird it only happens at startup. the first few times I press the pedal, I get no change in RPMs. then, after like 5 cycles, it starts behaving normally and never gives me any problems while driving. like its a mechanical issue of the IVS sticking in the idle position rather than an electrical issue. I haven't looked into it yet, but I think some silicone spray lube may be my first try.
beyond that, is it possible to take these switches apart to fix them or are they glued/single-piece molded cases?
oh yeah - i'd also be willing to buy one, after Glenn gets his.
