Idle Validation Switch

I need one.. Mine is broken, where the switch still works, but the tip that touches the pedal stop no longer touches. This causes the truck to never think its back to the NO throttle postition... The truck no longer clicks when you press the pedal... I don't know how long it has been like this, but what type of issues would this cause when driving?

Also where can I just get the switch? I dont want the whole pedal assembly.

Well after discovering this, I decided to take my truck out for a drive... Runs and drives like normal.

Still would like to get a new switch, since that is how my ICP mod is wired up, so the truck idles normal, just when the throttle is pressed, it uses the resistor...

Anybody have a spare just laying around?

ok here is what you need to do.. see that tab on the pedal that the IVS should touch???? bent it in a little until the IVS clicks AS SOON as you touch the pedal, but make sure it clicks back everytime. if its not touching that is your problem. doubt the IVS is bad

From another genisus other than me( im stupid)

Drill a little hole in the tab, then tap it, then install a little screw (without head, I dont know how do you call it) and add a nut in the back of the tab to fix it against the tab, and in that way you can adjust it easily as much as you desire: in or out. EASY FIX.

I owe that dude a Hug... It sucks having to reach down and click the switch to get the truck to rev up and not just idle...

But I did Call Denver Ford Parts... they wan 75 bucks for the IVS, TPS, and the accelerator pedal... If this screw thing does not work, i will be picking that up on Wednesday.

I like that repair idea makes good sense. If you do have to go to denver ford. Ask for larry and reference me he should give you a little better deal since I do some much business with them. Tell him your getting it for me if it helps hopefully he'll give it to you for my price that way.

why don't you simply bend the tab?!?! its easy as hell to do. we pull the tabs out to get better response from the pedal, but it will work the same for you if you just push the tab in. you might have to use a small pair of pliars but still.. i wouldn't go drilling and tapping nothin. too big of a pain for something that probably takes 10 seconds tops to fix.

it will, trust me. i have bent one so far it that the pedal just wouldn't go back to its original position.. it would stick up off the floor a ways.. LoL. you do gotta give it a little force. maybe a small hammer?? for me pliars, grab the end, hold the pedal out and prying it always works though.
