Trans Temp Questions..(again)

Been there too, In my case it sounds like I have it right but in the trucks, a leave it alone thinking works well.
Ive been in the labs in dearborn for the coyote , scorpion and ecoboost engines and see the stress they are put though long before they hit the streets and was wowed!
Still I always over think everything because of the cars that I work on and see that the end tank touches the coolant and have always thought that it would heat the fluid when hot, I know that its also there to help warm up things in a hurry. I have seen coolant temps in my duramax as high as 230 and never would want trans fluid near anything that hot.
in my 97 sho before the cooler mods I would see 300 degree trans temps on hot July track days. Well the autometer gauge was buried, so im ot sure where it was other than WAY to hot. Lost lock up in IL and had to drive it to mass..
My trans in the SD is old and I fear that it is slipping even though all the sensors say otherwise, it had trouble pulling a vw rabbit up a big hill 12% grade (no rolling start) can could give it more pedal and the rpms would go higher as the truck was slowing down by my foot, In 2nd or 3rd only. and im thinking the trans that to be getting hot. im ready to install a cooler (6.0L) and was thinking about eliminating the rad cooler, but I think i may just leave it.
Converter shows 100% lock up and no signs of slipping, when I got home I figured since the truck is new to me I would change the fluid and look in the pan, fluid was old but not burnt, and the Mag was a little fuzzy but was all in all pretty clean. Truck now has 323000 miles on it and I put it in service in November at 283000. Not one hiccup yet just getting ready for it
Manual trans in the SHO Mark, we would drill out the bottom of the case, connect a electronic, pump though a cooler and back into the fill hole. Same track in July 1 year later we would see a solid 50 degree difference. So on the Zf Im sure it cant hurt.. but a fairly expensive mod.
Can I give you ***** for all the dead ax4n and ax4s's Ive had to fix over the last 20 years? Oh wait I get paid for that.. Thank you sir!!!!! Also im sure you know what we use for extra coolers, we stack the ax4s Taurus Coolers and they work fantastically! I run one of those on my PS on the Taurus as well.
Currently stacking 3 in my 2010, and eliminating the Ac condenser circuit. Also if you read that they are installing them in the 2013 SHO Now. I guessing having the press at a SHO event where a New SHO vs the Old ones was happening and I melted the trans in good fashion and had to be pushed onto the trailer was quite embarrassing. Its too bad that I had to spend 40k on a car to tell them that cooling was in adequate.
front of all of them.
You may. I was responsible for the shifting. I calibrated the PCM, programming when it shifts and locks, and what those shifts feel like. Hard part failures in that box were usually from lube issues, and that trans had more than it's share of lube issues.
