Well if you are going 466 get ready for a lot of body and frame work
I'm going to try to get my DT360 in my 76 running around christmas

The biggest part of the 466 swap I don't like is the lift needed to clear the front axle.
Some lift is nice, but I don't want 12" of lift haha.

What exactly is a john deer 466?
I've heard of them, but are they a re-branded IH 466, or a john deere designed 466?

The Deere 466 is also called the 6466, 6 cylinders and 466 cubic inches.

All Deere and nothing to do with International.

Actually Irony of everyone bringing up the JD 466's is a buddy of mine with a 4520 with a Hair Dryer, were talking about making a Ford pull truck using a John Deere diesel engine. We also talked about engine with sleeves and and getting custom sleeves and pistons and such. We also thought about a V4 Detroit with supercharger and turbos. But was just a thought lol.

Big fan of 2 stroke Detroits. A 4V or 6V would be killer, but them why stop there and go for a 12V!!!

Lol cause a V12 would need a lengthened front end and I wouldn't wanna screw with it but a V4 and V6 fit under the stock hood!

I read about that truck in Diesel Power. The 300 I6 is still under the hood to run the ac and power steering. He says that first and second are useless and can pick the front end up in third..

i am not aware of anyone anywhere with a daily driver sd 466 project.

putting an engine in the box is stupid except for the odd show truck.
