took a different route home from work the other day & spotted these at the same house. Slowed to a stop to get 2nd pic, as I drove away I noticed a guy kinda behind the house looking (like I would) to see "who the heck is stopped in front of my house..."
More pics to come...the original yellow paint is getting "refreshed" My sister-in-law just acquired a genuine high-boy! Well... I guess Cooter is no longer the coolest truck in the driveway.
This gem was at the local cruise night yesterday. Wouldn't mind getting picked up by her on a dark lonely stretch of road.
It looks brand new. I would fix that.
No way could I own a Garage Queen.
If I did it would soon be converted to a useful vehicle.
Kind of like Safe Queens in the gun world like this S&W N-frame Model 520 .357 Magnum.
S&W produced 3000 of them in 1979 for the New York State Police only to have them cancell the order.
They had 4" barrels and one of only two N-frames produced with fixed sights.
The other one was a Model 58 .41 Mafnum with a 4" barrle.
While the Model 520 is a highly saught after hand gun I just had to fire it to see what it was like.
If I owned Steve McQueen's $6,000,000 GT 40 I would drive it every chance I got.
Except in foul weather.
A very good friend of mine owns this 1969 Mach I. 428 SCJ 4-speed and no PS. He has owned it since 1973.
Its never seen snow or even been in the rain since he's owned it. CA car so I'm sure its never seen snow.
Today it only has 27,000 miles on it and he hasn't even started it in nearly 50 years. It just sits covered inside his garage.
What a waste of a beautiful piece of machinery.
My brother bought this 1987 XLT Lariat 460 C6 4wd new. It was white and he had the dealer add the blue stickers.
He passed away back in 2017 and the truck only had 48,000 miles on it. The Michelin tires were 4 years old and only had 600 miles on them.
My little sister ended up with the truck. I had my 2011 Chevy 2500HD at the time and really had no interest in the truck.
It still ran and drove like it was brand new.
