Sorry, no 1979 had round lights. All ;79s had rectangle lights. 1978 Customs had round lights.
Sturm, that's a 1977.
Not true. Certain base model 79's did have the round headlights. Almost all of them were fleet ordered trucks. They're rare to find today, but they are out there.
That's a good looking 77 Explorer. But in my opinion it needs the correct 76/77 grill inserts. They look so much better then the 73/75 inserts that are in the shell currently.
That's pretty dang nice for a Custom...I like the headache rack.. is that a highboy? I like the look of the white steelies on it
It is one clean F-250
As far as it being a highboy, I can ask him at next weeks gathering
besides I'm not sure who was happier to see another dent at the gathering him or I
here's another shot of it for your viewing pleasure

Not a highboy. Highboys have the in-cab fuel tank. But thanks for the picture-very nice truck!

Looks like my long lost twin. I think that might be the first one I've seen with the same color as mine. She's looking pretty good. I'm thinking someone has put the older grill in her though given the fuel tank doors say its probably a '78.

My copper truck, 77 F350, has the dual fuel doors like that. I don't know if that was a mid-year change or not.

Nope, not a mid year change. 77 was the first year for the square fuel doors and the series/model nameplates mounted onto the cowl panel. 73-76 the series nameplates were mounted one the fenders, the model nameplates were mounted on the bedsides below the rear marker lights, and they also had the exposed gas caps.
