So I'm convinced the speed control servo motor is the culprit. I ordered a new one. Took apart the old one to see if I could fix it. See photo and my notes for possible cause...
So the servo motor was the culprit. I bought the bottom case and re used the top circuit board and installed yesterday. Problem solved! Trip to Indy will be much more comfortable!
