I have a 2012 F-150 FX4 5.0. Today I got in it and I notice that as I am driving down the road that in the center of the driver information screen something seems missing. So I think and then I realize (I've only had this truck a month) that on the right side it is not displaying my gears and showing me which gear it is actually in. The shift indicator on the bottom is there and working properly, So my question is where did it go and how do I get it back?
On your shifter lever that you pull down to put you truck into gear, there is a little toggle switch on it. It is for shifting gears up and down manually when in manual shift mode.
In normal drive mode if you hit the switch it changes the display from on to off. Next time you drive the truck, toggle the switch up or down to see if the current gear indicator comes back on your screen.
Ok so Indyram your a genius. LOL That did it. I didnt know it did that and I also dont remember ever reading that either. Anyway thanks I thought something was wrong with my truck.
LOL nope..not a genius! Glad I could help, I never read about it either... I just got the truck and started pushing and twisting all the gadgets and doohickeys to see what they all did.
Compared to my old 1978 in my avatar...this 2011 SuperCrew 4x4 5.0 is like the space shuttle!

Yeah I had the same problem this morning so I'll try that tomorrow morning too. I read the manual and it did say anything on how to turn it off or on. Good thing for this website. Thank you 96indyram!!!
