Need Help!

Hallo, Gentlemen !

I've got a problem with my 04, 6.0TD, Excursion.
Couple months ago, I had a problem with EGR, it was dramatically sad. I was on the road at night, with a severe frost outside at a distance to closest city around 150 miles. I had collected all "benefits". Problem with EGR was fixed, finally, I run my truck from service, passed around 100 miles, everything was Ok, only lit bit more smoke at exhaust. Suddenly it started to work worse, like some of the cylinders was out of work. I was in similar situation, out of city, night, winter, all the best You can to image.
I had passed 150 miles, and engine was stopped. Since this time I can not to start it. I had changed O-rings for all 8 fuel injectors, fuel pressure is 3,8-4,0 Bar, cylinder compression is OK, Oil pressure OK, air supply OK. May be someone can give me an idea, what I have to check. Tommorow I will try to remove catalisator.
Please help. I'am outside US and Canada. In our services boys has not so deep expierence with US made cars.

Hello! Can you scan truck's computer for fault codes? OBDII Good place to start. What is catalisator?

I had scanned, no any mistake's code ! Catalisator - It is in exhaust system, exhaust gas cathalytic convertor.
Head gaskets is ok, also. No antifreeze in oil, e.t.c. Mechanically it is looking great, but not starting ! Battery and starter working well, also )))

Ah, I would suspect a high pressure oil system problem (HPO) or possibly a Fuel Injection Control Module (FICM). Here is a link to the No-Start thread in the Tech Folder:
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/8...condition.html

Do you know if the engine is '03 or '04 model? ICP sensor is Under turbo on '03 and on passenger side valve cover on '04 and newer.

I had checked this troubleshooting post. I had measured oil and injection pressure it is OK.
Point. It come to death running, How I can explain. First I started to loose a power, was feeling like one or more cylinders out of work, it was less and less power until engine was stopped.
Before was EGR problem. I had it deleted. After that I'd run 100-150 miles with no problem, and mess described above rised.

Low fuel pressure because of clogged fuel filters? Or weak fuel pressure regulator spring?

If ICP and IPR were good I would check FICM voltage next. Are there any other problems like interior lights or heater controls not working?

I was thinking fuel too, but fuel pressure was 3.8-4.0 bar (57-59psi). In a previous post where truck died like this ( lost power slowly till it died then no-start), one of our Techs said there was only a couple of things that can cause this. I cannot find the post now.

No, everything is working. Before engine stopped, heater was worked fine, not any trouble in electric. I want to remove cat, because I had run couple hundreds miles with damaged EGR, as result coolant was in exhaust gases, might be some damage in cat also, it cold be clogged.
This is reason I asking, fuel supply is OK, Oil pressure is Ok, also, filters are new, compression in cylinders - OK -miracle - not starting. May be someone have expierence in some specific point. All regular tests were done, and results are normal.
miracle!

Not too hard to check, just two bolts and pull front flange apart. I have heard of the CC (catalisator) plugging up and causing low power but not a no-start. Does it have plenty of fuel in the tank?
Can you do FICM test from Tech folder? Injectors need fuel, oil pressure, and electric signal to work. If you're sure first two are ok, need to check electric parts.

Yes, sure I will check FICM voltage. It is half tank fuel at least. Before I stopped, I filled full tank. First Idea was water in fuel, I had checked, but it was pure diesel in filters. Second Idea, I had read it here, that possible Injectors O-rings were dead, after EGR failure, I had changed them to new ones. Checked before all pressures, and fuel / air distribution, and made complete diagnostics. Today I finished all this staff, tryed to start-no success.
The biggest problem we have only 5-6 this engines in country. And it is no one to ask. Truck was nice before, no oil eating, no smoking, 115 t.m, originally bought in US from Ford dealer litbit used, was 37 t.m and one owner prior to me. I like it a lot, close to cry !

Good truck and good engine but it's different than older models. Can be a pain in the butt for even good mechanic sometimes. You'll get it fixed.
