I would like to know if I installed lights side-by-side around the front license plate would that interfere with the air intake or engine temperature?
I ask this because I inquired about PIA lights and I was advised that the location may not be suitable for summer temperatures. I just think the area around my license plate could use a touch up. Any Ford techs out there want to take a stab at this one?
I'm not a tech, but I don't think you'll have an issue. Any lights will block only a small amount of area that air an pass, and so the cooling loss should be minimal. Do you tow heavy in hot climates? If not I would install them and just keep an eye on your temps.
No I don't tow heavy. I plan on renting a toy hauler for one trip but nothing on a regular basis. It just seems strange that there is such a large gap of space there in the bumper. Either it's functional for fresh air and/or it's just calling out for a cool set of lights. I wouldn't think it would matter but there I was at a truck store looking to spend money. It was suggested to me that I get some technical advice as the 6.7 is new.
