I'm thinking pulling it behind our coach & not sure what ill do for tail lights - would be nice if ford made an integrated harness like Mopar does for the Jeep Wrangler.
I'm not a fan of boring holes in my Factory sealed LED tail lights to add an crappy incandescent bulb, like Blue-Ox suggest.
you'd need to mount a small steel plate, maybe in the farthest back stake pocket, for the magnets to attach to. Might work on the steel bumper too.
Yeah I have a set of those Magnetic Tail lights (cabled variety)....total PIA.
I had the exact same thought - a metal plate over the stake pocket or a set of Flip UP Stake Pocket Anchors like THESE might work....but again ugly as hell (not integrated at all).
I would likely (want to) buy wireless lights (disappear easily)?
Changing 12 AAA batteries every 12 hours would be a PIA and I see other solutions that say it takes 8 hours to fully recharge some of the better wireless lights (good thing I have a 12v outlet under the bumper already).
IF you are going to be flat towing behind you a lot, you could consider permanently flush mounting trailer tail lights in your rear bumper. There is plenty of real estate behind the bumper, and drilling it out isn't too bad. A new (or takeoff) rear bumper isn't that expensive if you ever want to get rid of it. It's a half day's work to drill out and flush mount lights in bumper and run the cables to the front, but you'd never have to worry about trailer lights again.
Something like This would look good, not detract from the look of the truck, and serve the legal and safety purpose.
What about making up a bar that would mount in the truck's hitch and hold a set of turn/stop/tail lights? A cable could be run the length of the truck, with plugs on each end for connection to the coach and light bar.

I was also thinking one of those LED light strips that mounts under the tailgate....except I already have the factory 3 light bar under their already....
I wonder if something like this is bright enough....
