Yesterday, my change oil message came on right on schedule. However, this time it was immediately followed by change fuel filter message.
I changed the fuel filters for the first time at 22,000 miles. I only have approximately 6500 miles on these filters and computer says its time to change. This seems pretty strange to me.
Manual says every 22,500 miles or when computer message says so but it also says that if you get more than average impurities in fuel that filters may need changing at sooner intervals.
Should I change them again? Would really appreciate yalls input/comments. Maybe I should change them and then do an autopsy on them. What do yall think? Thanks, Mark
Did you reset the Fuel Filter Reminder in the command center the first time you changed the filter? If you didn't the computer is just doing it's calculations and thinking it's time for the 1st filter change.
10-4, I bought the filters but have not installed them. I reset the computer message back to 100% just to see if and when the message comes back. If the message reappears soon, I'm going to install new filters but if not, going to replace later. Thanks, Mark
with all the hype about HPFP failure and such, i wouldnt flinch at changing em. who knows, maybe something was in a batch of fuel and the filter and the computer did their job and saved you a potential hassle elsewhere.
as for me, oil every 5k miles, fuel filters ever 10k miles. cheap insurance as far as im concerned. plus its easy to remember service intervals
