steering column?
1974 F250 4X4, NON TILT COLUMN
Ok so i have alot of wobble in my steering coulmn. Part of the prob is that the non U joint end of the steering shaft below the column seems to have partly broken. Also, at the bottom of the steering column shaft, above the U joint end coming off the steering shaft, there is a little rubber grommet that seems to have somehow come out of the column?????
After that long story wich seems to lead to no question.lol Is there some kind of a rebuild kit for the coulmn? And how long would you guess it would take to pull the column and rebuild it? Then re-install it?

All I remember seeing for a bottom support on these trucks is a roller bearing that is in a plastic cage that supports the shaft. I haveseen the tabs break off and the shaft is loose due to the plastic not clamping the column housing anymore, I guess the plastic could break off and the bearing is all that is left and it could be loose, possible.

Nope, no rebuild "kit" per se. You'll need to figure out which parts you need then see if they're still available.
Is your truck automatic or manual? It makes a difference.
Let me know which one you have and I'll post the exploded diagram so you can see what you're getting into.
