Went to the Honda dealer tonight. Much more productive visit. They had an Insight sitting there (Prius competition), and they also have the Civic Hybrid now. They never once tried to push me toward either one.
Drove a CRV and an Accord. Looked at Fit (too small, says she) and the Civic.
I drove a Civic from CA to IL round trip in July 2008. Needed an extra seat pillow 'cause Civic seats are not comfy after 5 hrs. Shoulda taken the Ex...
Heres one I need to get in a bumper sticker rather than a tailgate sticker
Bumper sticker would be nice but for people talking or texting as they drive I think you need the tailgate size for them to read it!
Rob, who's truck is that I like his rear bumper?
Sean after seeing the photos of the Honda & trailer I must say I'll bet that was a painful drive. What was it like pulling that trailer through the mountains?
I'm in the midst of the preliminaries for setting up a Honda to tow the factory-recommended limit. They say I can safely tow 3500 pounds. 4500 if it's a boat (the aerodynamics are better). Yippeee!
You really appreciate our factory tow packages when adding receivers, brake controllers (it's NOT plug-n-play), and fluid coolers. None of that stuff comes standard on the 2008 model Pilots (though it DOES on the 2009s & up).
Biggest pain is going to be the seven-pin connector wiring. Honda supplies all the stuff for only four pin connectors, but makes no provision for trailer brakes! What's with that??
Got the receiver on order, and it will be here this coming week, but that's the simplest part of the whole project. Takes about 45 minutes to bolt on if you're slow.

Just keep the RPM's up and it pulled 60-65 mph uphill. Rear suspension (bump stops) on the other hand were not happy.
