Edge with attitude CTS

Nope not stupid at all.
I had the Edge Evolution in my 6.0...all you do is plug it into your OBD-II port and your good to go!
I think thats the safest edge tuner for the 6.0...but you're running a BIG risk of streching your headbolts tuning it....
I used it to monitor my ECT EOT batt voltage and Boost.
The only thing it wont monitor is FICM voltage.
Now the edge CTS is different from the EVO.....So i answered as best as I could to what you asked!
Now, what I think you should do(your truck your money, my opinion) just buy a scan gauge II and you'll have the one tool that can monitor almost everything you'll need on your truck....since I know youre new to 6.0s and still exploring all the options and things you can do with em...its about 160$ and never have a change to explore tuning the truck unsafely.

The Evolution CTS is a programmer that comes with the full setup of all the gauges currently offered by Edge. Plug it in to the OBDII port, poke the screen until it turns on, then follow the prompts. It's that easy.
The Juice with Attitude is the one with the reputation for blowing transmissions. Bill at PHP will do custom tunes for Edge based platforms, so you aren't stuck with canned tunes, and almost everyone here will tell you that custom tuning is the way to go (though the SCT X3 is usually the recommended programmer)
The Insight CTS is the gauge only unit with no programming capability.
Even if you update the firmware? I'm thinking the Evolution CTS, not the Evo HT. The Insight CTS does FICM V, so I assumed the Evolution on the same platform would have the same stuff.

Yes, the Evolution CTS comes preloaded with tunes. The Insight CTS does not, as it is not a programmer. Same platform though.

It comes with a suction cup mount. If you want it permanently mounted you need the dash pod and the CTS adapter. Only the CS fits down into the pod, the CTS is kind of in front of it.
This is a Dodge, but you get the idea:
Look at post 5 in this link for a a CS installed in a pod:

Tuning isn't bad, it'll just expose the weak points of the engine faster. Supporting mods like head studs are pretty much a guaranteed need for a tuned truck eventually, but some trucks need them faster than others. That's why guys here advocate custom tunes instead of canned tunes because there are a few individuals who write better tunes that are less likely to blow the heads (Matt at gearhead offers a tune for non-studded trucks for the SCt tuner). But it's a pay-to-play thing; you can't just throw on a 120HP race tune and drive the wheels off it and expect to never have some kind of issue. Do your gauges, get a good handle on stuff like fuel pressure and the FICM, and in general get the truck in good shape and treat it well, and it'll take a tuner just fine.
Scale of 1-10, Id say a 2, if you're willing to pay the piper when he calls. A 13 if you want to tow 15k sets with a 120HP shift on the fly tuner. There's a ton of info here, just search threads about recommended tuners and you'll get more reading than you can stand
