Two wheel drive vacuum pump??????
My ac will blow out of the vents like its supposed to and then i will put it in 4 wheel drive and it comes out of the defrost vents on top and on the windshield. I went to my mechanic and he said its the two wheel drive vacuum pump. Its on the passenger side of the motor right inside with 2 screws and 3 plug ins. He said it would be about 75 bucks from the ford house. I called em and they said it was a PUMP and that its 210 bucks. Is that right or what? where can i get one elsewhere?

It sounds to me the vac pump is fine since the heater works right but dont when you engauge 4X4
Im thinking you have a VAC Leak in the 4X4 line somewhere could be a line or a hub seal
you will have to trouble shoot to determine what side leaks
to check pump works properly unplug lines and cap them pump should shut off shortly after and work your way out
