i have been looking around all over and cant find the ford badge and the f150 fender badge in gold . when my truck was brand new it was a gold addition but over time 99.9 percent of it had faded to chrome . you have to look at it real close to tell they was gold . i am getting ready to start body work and repaint the truck and would like the retain the gold addition badges on it . if any one knows of a place to get them plz let me know . thanks
i thought about paint but i want them to look nice like og . napa here where i live if its not a Chevy or jeep your s.o.l . tomorrow i am going to call lmc because they don't list them in gold only chrome in hopes they can get them
would think if you put a couple nice thin coats of gold over them and put some clear or something that protects the paint that they would last a while again. you should try that if you cant find any and just see how it looks.
They were Gold Plated. I dont recall any factory plating. Check with your local Cadillac or Lexus dealer. They have local guys who plate their cars for them just as they do their pinstipe. I know a guy locally who does it for several dealers. If you find your local supplier/vendor, he will probably do it for you but realize the cost goes up as does the price of gold and currently it is crazy. I would suggest going to your local Hobby Lobby or like store in your area and purchase gold leaf. You can do it yourself and then clear it. Should look as good as new and better than paint will.

Reason: added pics
Its metal, it can be powdercoated and will NEVER EVER EVER fade or come pff pretty much. Well at least the badges can, the front emblem is plastic if Im not mistaken. Some gold lacquer and clear coat will fix that right up tho.
