Trim restore
Probably been talked about many times, but since I've already spent some time trying to search, I just gave up. I need to freshen up the black paint on my racetrac style trim and just wondering what the best thing to do it. One of my pieces is in great shape, but the black paint has chipped off. I've managed to spray some paint on it temporarily just to make it look oK, but it won't last. It'll just come off as soon as I go to the carwash I'm afraid. Paint just doesn't stick to the chrome. What does the factory do to get it to stay? I've looked at some SEM adhesive promotor for paint and may try that. No need to buy new expensive chrome if I can restore mine. Thanks.

Yeah, I don't know. When the paint is chipped off, there seems to be no difference in the look and feel of the chrome underneath compared to the rest. It's nice and smooth, so paint won't stick very well.
