Mine seems to be almost more of a turbo lag. Like its real sluggish then all of a sudden it revs and shifts. This is worst on first to second shifts. I also have felt it waffle back and forth on 2 to 3 shifts. The other day I had that surge/lag back and forth with the cruise on in 6th ( when I hit resume from about 65 with it set at 70). The boost shot up and down too. I had it in to the dealer last spring and they reflashed it. It was better but not great til it got cold this winter. Now it sucks again. I don't get if I accelerate hard, but it's bad when I drive like a farmer.

I just got mine out of the shop after two weeks of them tearing it down and putting it back together. Shift flares and lurching, randomly shifting back and forth rapidly between 2nd and 3rd while trying to decide which gear it wanted to be in, lurching to the point that it felt like someone hitting the back of the driver's seat with a ball bat, shift flares and surges when shifting from 4th to 5th, and the list goes on.

This was the sixth trip in for the same issue since buying the truck new in July of 2011.

This time, they replaced the valve body, all seals, ATF and additive, solenoids, reflashed it, and the filter / screen. So far it's driving better but not great. I'm still getting some lurching in 3rd gear after it's shifted into 3rd. I'm going to give it a little longer to see how it does because it's only got about 300 miles since the latest round at the dealer.

They did all that to mine and it only helped a little.

Ford engineers said that is as good as it is getting!

I say it is software issues they claim no way.

I bet a programmer would fix it
