HIO Silver, Old Style and myself had a great time at last Sunday's Ford Classic car show. Thanks guys for stopping by, I Especially Old Style who had a hour and a half (+) drive just to get there. I had a great time hanging out.
Lots of really nice Fords. I was the only 6th Generation truck and only a few other early 60's trucks. (No Bumps!) This was a no contest show. Candy Cane did pretty well, It drew a good size crowd and was looked over pretty closely.
Here's just a few pix of the event.
I had a little bit of trouble with the carburetor on the way home, She stalled out at a traffic light but I got her re-started and pulled safely into a parking lot where I tweaked the mixture. Not sure why it was running so rich unless the set screws backed off themselves. Then she died on me on Vasco Road (A remote and hilly road on the way back home, not a good place to stall out) But I managed to pull into a service road. I had too much advance so I had to re-plumb the vacuum lines to the EGR and vacuum advance. I got her home safely and she ran great after my roadside fix. Next weekend I'll make the fix more permanent and take HIO Silver's suggestion to get her Dyno-Tuned.
Looks like a great show, I passed on a unfinshed "fish mouth" (first car) a while back, been kicking myself ever since... Candy Cane's looking good hate to hear about your carb troubles...
Love the Early 70's Cougar, wish mine was in that condition...
It wasn't too hard to pick Candy Cane out of the crowd. Cool neighbors too.... The Flathead blue rail was built & raced by the 80yr man in the hat!
Thanks for the invite Steve & HIO_Sliver covered lunch! Great day, perfect weather, stories of old and dreams of future projects...
