Just a quick update, I have been in Colorado since last Friday so I had the body shop deliver Candy Cane to my house. Since I haven't seen the finished work yet I had my lovely wife shoot some cell phone pix. I will get to work when I return home.
Just got home from Santa Rosa... Almost dropped by but now I am glad I waited. I took a right at 35 & went Skyline home. Looks great Steve! A little basking in the sun before putting on the trim can't hurt!
Thanks Aaron, it was around $3500 for the paint and some minor body work. I spent around $500 in parts and many hours in pre body shop work. When I get back home I'll spend a few more days putting it all back together.

That's gonna be the fun part.
That's the cheapest price for paint I've heard yet! Besides doing it yourself of course...
I WISH I could get a paint job that cheap up here in the Great White North...
Last time I checked, the quotes I was getting started at 10,000... they go up from there for supplies, labour and any work beyond paint...
Which to me isn't worth my time nor my money. I may as well do it myself with my own tools (which I would need to buy) for those prices...
Hey Steve,
You must be one happy camper! I'm sure it's a great feeling, can't wait to see her complete. Congrats!
I have had several complete paint jobs done and two were pickups, I pulled the bed off the second one because I was unhappy with area's that got missed and just got overspray, i'm sure you took that into consideration so what were your thoughts and results?
Tony
Hey Tony, Yes I even unbolted the bed for them and when I was there they pulled the bed off to prime. I really can't tell you about the results yet because I'm still working in Colorado and I've yet to see the final results in person.

Here she is! I spent the whole weekend putting everything back together. There will be some additional work later such as replacing parts of the Race Track trim that didn't shine up as nicely as I would like. Overall I'm very happy with the new paint. I took it out this afternoon for a wash and a short trip to the grocery store and I was turning a lot of heads.
This has been my nemesis, my back end. Until today. Now I finally have a smok'n hot ***....end!
Here's the repainted badges.
Nice creamy hood! I love the way it looks when I'm driving.
I put my toolbox back on and I think I'll drive it to work Monday.
