Hello. My drag link has a lot of play. I had the truck on a lift and when I pushed/pulled on the front wheels I could see the drag link wobble where it connects to the Pitman arm. I will post a video tomorrow, but I'm pretty sure it's shot. Are there any easy fixes, or do I have to replace it? Is that an easy job I can do in my driveway? Any advice on where to get the parts or tips for a successful job? Thanks a lot for any help!
... or any good links? I'm sure this issue has been discussed on here, but they all seem to be on older trucks, or use terminology I'm not familiar with. Thanks again!
When my drag link went bad I went and bought a new one at the dealer. If I remember correctly it wasnt very expensive at all. Mine also went bad at the pitman arm and after I had it replaced I had to get a front end alignment. It wasnt pulling either way but it started cupping the tires, I guess my measurements were a little off. It is a pretty easy job and didnt take very long to do
A fairly staight forward job. Just take some measurements before you take things apart. you can buy OEM or aftermarket OR you could look at this company, bulletproofsteering.com. Real quality stuff and not bad pricing for what you get.
