Why do you drive a Ford ?
Then a 1997 ford escort it was totaled in 2009 thats how I ended up with my saturn. They were slow nothing fancy but it got me anywhere, and thats just the cars. The ford pickups have been alot harder for me break. I'm just now on my 2nd pickup, maybe when this 98 f150 Ive got blows up I'll try a chevy pickup.
Caught myself speeding a few times when I first bought it. I also think there the best looking trucks on the road and just plain ol' my truck has served and continues to serve me well.

F@*#$in'
Old
Rebuilt
Dodge

Now that's funny---but sooooo true!

Like many I've owned and enjoyed many cars over the years, Ford's and GM's seeming to be the bulk of them though. I've not had anything I'd consider horrible but I buy used vehicles mostly so by the time I get them they've somewhat proven themselves. Living in the throw away society we do I can drive great vehicles that require very little initial repair or maintenance before they're on the road and filling my needs.
These days I unabashedly drive an E250 and am looking for another to replace this one. For me its reached the point of replacement @ 263K miles and with prices being what they are its almost cheaper than installing a new engine/transmission. I'd like to have the extended body version if the right deal comes along.
I came to know Ford's later vans through a side job where I was driving a '99 E250 several times a week---was highly impressed with most everything about it. Having inherited '88 E150 with the 300 IL 6 which the '99 replaced it was quite a step up so to speak so the Ford brand became something I'd consider once again.
Being a long time GM performance fan it was almost blasphemy defecting from the Bow Tie Brigade to the Blue Oval camp---I take quite a ribbing still from the Blue Oval guys I used to kid about Ford in general. These days I just don't say a lot about either brand---bash Chrysler instead!

Some changes to the E-Series, mostly its replacement by the Euro-inspired Transit which are waaaaay out of my budget makes me doubt I'll remain loyal to Ford unless good used E vans suddenly become too expensive for my taste. Having access to quite a few top-notch mechanics who give good advice and work somewhat cheap after hours I don't have to be overly concerned with cost of maintenance.
Most vehicles today are insanely reliable and well built finding something reliable to drive or use for work is easier than ever. Like most tools I'll use the best I can afford but brand name alone isn't that major an influence these days.

On a serious note though that 4.3 is a great engine..but i juts prefer rangers
