Sounds terrific. I'm increasingly expecting to follow a similar path. If only I could swap the powertrain from the V10. Hopefully the 4.10's (and maybe even 4.30's) will help to offset some of the lack of grunt and bring me closer where I need to be.
I really kick myself for missing the V10. Hopefully I can overcome the deficit. With a good tune, if I can find one, I'm fairly confident of doing so both safely and reliably.

The comments about adding transmission cooler are correct. The weak component I found in my 97 E350 Clubwagon with the V-10 was the Dana 70 differential with limited slip. In 100m miles it needed to be rebuilt twice. Heed the owners manual about putting 1000 miles on the vehicle before towing. The last rebuilder recommended for the first 100 miles drive 20 miles and stop to cool off for 20 minutes. They recommended against Synthetic gear lube because of seals but you will get the new one with Synthetic 75W-140 already installed and no changes recommended.
