Another thing to note too, the "old school" RS5000 has (pretty much) been phased out for the new RS5000X.
This has a gas charge now (not as high as a monotube) and the valve shim stack is pretty cool too.
Firm when it is needed, fairly "soft when needed.

Denny (8-10 years) That's my experience and both sources have come a long way.
I had 5000 series on my 98 dually one ton prior to that and they were great on road, but if I didn't have a full load of oak in the bed, it was a buckboard on uneven terrain.
I loved KYB on my Mazda Rx7 but something about Japanese shocks on my F250 felt wrong. The Bilstines are made in Mexico where my truck is going to live. I found a NOS TRW steering stabilizer that was made in the late 80s on ebay. It went on yesterday.
