When I built my 6.9 P'stroke turbo I used G code injecors. I thought they were the ones for a turbo motor. From what I have been reading that was a mistake. Should I replace them with BB code or just run them? Right now I hit 12+ psi before I back out because EGT (post turbo) is hitting 1200. I am moving probe to exhaust manifold (actully putting in second gauge) but have not got it done yet. Should I just put in IC? I can get an early cummins IC for $30 would that be worth it/large enough?
I think 1200 is awful high also, especially post turbo. The gauge is an old ISSPro that was in truck when I got it. I had to replace thermocouple to get it working. I am installing another thermocouple in dirver side manifold with an old ISSPro 606 (3") that reads to 1500.
I would love to check my timing. The diesel mechanics I have talked to don't have the equipment. The fuel injection shop (taylor) doesn't even know of anybody that can do it. Should I look up an international dealer? I am in the St Louis area.
If you can find someone with the meter, I have an extra probe tip you can borrow. That's small enough to ship around easily, the actual meter is more of a pain.
The probes you can find off and on. Most of these meters I've seen for sale have the pickup and may or may not have the probe. A probe off a 5.7/6.2 GM will fit the 6.9/7.3 idi motors.
