BB code injectors with turbo pump?
BB code injectors with turbo pump?
I have fairly new BB code Delphi injectors on my N/A 88F350 IDI. Stock (probably original) IP with about 170,000km. I am getting ready to install an 093 turbo. Here is my question. I also have the stock IP from the 94 IDIT truck that i got all the 093 parts from. I think it has about the same mileage. Can I use that turbo IP with my newish BB code injectors, or would I need to get the G codes or whichever are the "right" ones? Thanks.
The G codes were introduced for the turbo engine as optimized over the E code N/A injectors. BB is a more modern design than both.
General thought is that the BBs are fine; you're not missing out on any performance enhancement over the Gs.
Here's the statement in the Ford manual:

All of it is BS.
The Stanadyne injectors are all but Identical aside from the letter code on the side.
I have been through many injectors, and both brands have their benefits/downfalls...
The Stanadynes are a more quality injector, with better tolerances... The Delphi/CAV/lucas sticks have a better, more consistant spray pattern, but have quality issues out of the box.
If you have newer BB codes, they will work just fine with the Turbo IP/093 setup... As good if not better than the factory stanadynes... I do recommend that somebody go through them though, The stock pop pressures work well with stock fuel flow rates, but when you turn up the fuel, they can lead to a smokey'er setup. The key to this is to bump the stock pop pressures to bring the injection duration back into normal range.
