I really SHOULD have timf150 on speed dial. It gets worse. I paid $249 for the RS6444, and I see here that most people paid $204. I should have this budget thread on speed dial, or at least in my favorites folder.
On top of that, someone else in the local area, prolly one of you smart on top of it savvy type of internet guru dealmakers, has brand new Wrangler lift kits for sale on CL for only $125. I can't compete with that and even come close to recovering the $249 I paid.
All I need is to for my rebate to get lost in the mail. and then I'll have paid almost $700 for four Rancho 9000xls, when I already HAD four relatively new (long time, but low mileage) Rancho 9000s already installed! Ahhh, the consequences of greed... the Bible is right... it leadeth to (self) destruction!
Rancho hasn't made the cellular foam design 9000s in a decade. I wondered if the new nitrogen charged XL's would be better than foam cell. There seems to be no authoritative or clear consensus in comparison. But much debate as to the benefits/detriments of both.
On top of all that, there are posters who have turned in their old 9000s for replacments under the 9000s lifetime warranty, and received new XL's, without paying $700, without paying $329, without paying "the difference in cost between the 9000s and the 9000XL's", without paying ANYTHING. But under what pretext? My 9000's aren't leaking. And I can't tell myself when a shock is shot, much less convince anyone else that it is. And that is likely because they aren't shot.
The 08 is my favorite front end to the SD series, but unless I get the Super60 Fat Boy wide track front end axle to go with it so I can actually make a U turn instead of going around the block, I'm staying with what I got. Besides, I've already got some truck budget wounds to lick.
But I am still up for some dark grey/black Excursion running board covers that I can cut up. And I have fully intact tan Excursion running board covers to trade! That's a budget minded thing, right? Right?
Sorry Y2K, wish you had paid more attention, I hate that you may have spent so much upgrading shocks that did not need upgrading. On the upside if ur rebate gets lost in the mail, Rancho has a toll free number just for the rebates and another for the card company that mails them out and they will make it right, right away.
I put the actual vehicle and the vehicle that I bought it for lol. They were one and the same so not sure if that helps much wildstang. Do you own both vehicles? If so then I don't see that it matters........
Riggers thank you. I got the lift for a jeep wrangler that I don't own. I guess I didntsee anything requiring the lift to be for your own vehicle. The shocks are for the excursion though so I will out that down.
By the way, two of the shocks are back ordered, hopefully get them beginning of August
Oh I didn't need the jeep lift either and did not list a jeep on the rebate form. Can't recall that it asked for the exact vehicles or I do not remember lol. It took about 2-4 wks, one was 2 wks one was 4, but we got ours in early, the later you wait in the rebate the longer it usually takes because they are going through a lot of forms by then.
My rebate is just about used up, walmart declined it the other day.
Off topic question, sorry in advance, I see you listed IAH delete. Did you ever get CEL on after it? I did and got that wire with the resister, or whatever, built into it and so far it hasn't come back on.

That's weird. Everything I've read states it's a soft code only and shouldn't activate the SES light.
I've removed them from both my Ex and my 250 and never thrown a light.

Stewart
Had it reset a few times and it would come back. So I got the special wire and then had to replace the batteries and had it cleared at the same time and so far hasn't come back
Yeah, like Stewart I didn't get a light either. I thought I removed everything but looking back at the pics I just removed the heating element and its wires. Did you remove your solenoid and all?
No originally left it and when I tried to put the trick wire on one of the posts broke so I had to get another to finish it. Supposedly it happens to some.
