So I was thinking about cannibalizing the dual front shock setup from a 79 bronco to stick under my f100. It bounces a little more than I care for. I realized it has those stud type shocks though when the hoops always seemed more durable to me. Any thoughts on this? Perhaps an aftermarket setup would be better?
I wouldn't see why the bronco setup wouldn't work they are basically the same frames and drivetrain. If you want the hoops then go for it but the bronco would be closer to an original look if it matters
So theres no durability issues with the stud type shocks? Assuming not this is way cheaper than anything else I could come up with and ir would bolt right on.
I have a 07 silverado with the top mount is a stud and it hasn't failed me yet. I see no problems with them. I haven't replaced the shocks on my crew cab yet but it's a one ton so they might be different. What's the use of the truck? Daily driver or wheeler or both? A dd with occasional wheeling it should be fine.
