Dual shock mount kits

So...I am thinking about the dual mount kits. I have a 2001 250 4x4 with the 5.4. I have not yet replaced the shocks anywhere on it and want to start doing so soon. What are the advantages/drawbacks with doing dual shocks up front? How will it affect the ride? Steering? Anything else? is it easy to put on such as an adapter or something similar?

If this is not a feasable option, what are you guys using for single options? Gabriel seems good, what else?

Thanks for all the help in advance

IMO,unless your doing some serious off-roading,there's no need for dual shocks.A "good" single skock will work fine. There's alot of good shocks available i.e. Monroe,Rancho,Pro-comp,etc.I personally don't care for Gabriel.

They prevent roll and such in the older straight axle trucks and may be some help in the older full size Bronco. But, I really do not think you need them on the newer trucks.

Today's shocks are many times better then the older shocks in the 70s and 80s.

The disadvantage is if it is not done correctly, including the choice of shock for rebound rate, the angle they are mounted, etc. you end up with a very stiff ride.
