Hook up a cheap mechanical gauge to test/compare your sending unit on your electrical gauge. If the mech gauge reads significantly different, you know your sending unit is bad.
Harbor Frieght has cheap liquid fill ones, and i believe the bendable grease hose threads are compatable to the sensor threads..make a cheapo mech. set-up for 5 buks..
Thanks guys I just picked up my air compressor so ill be pushing some air through there tomorrow and recheck the FPR and caverjoe I may have to take you up on that offer ever since I've owned the truck (couple years now) its not really had the power it should so maybe the AE will see something I don't. Where are you located.
So picked up the FPR rebuild kit today. Got it installed and the trucks running pretty good the psi is staying between 66-70 idle is smother than its ever been. The truck still fills slugish and lacking some power in my mind, but hopefully ill be meeting with caverjoe and get some data going.

Glad the FPR rebuild got the fuel pressure where it should be. It is an often overlooked wear item.
Andrew,
You may have to give me a little insight on this FPR rebuild. I will be working in Lotawanna tomorrow (fri) probably from 9-3 or so. Let me know if you want to meet up somewhere. Or give me a call before 9 tonight or sometime tomorrow.
