so guys the fuel pressure issue is back. If I start the truck and let it idle for 30 seconds after that the fuel pressure gauge will bounce and climb to 100 psI. If your driving while on the gas the fuel pressure stays at 72 psI and when you let off the gas it climbs back to 100 psi and stays there till you hit the gas. Today I pulled the lines at the bowl and at the frame and ran a wire through them (hard line and flex line) to make sure they weren't clogged and still have the issue. Haven't dropped the tank yet. Both my pre pump filter and bowl filters are clean and new. I've done the hutch and harpoon mods. Any ideas or things to check. I don't have access to a AE so I'm kinda going at thus old school. Thanks guys.
could be the FPR is sticking...There's a few threads goin on about the issue. ONe fix (for me) was to wet-sand the plunger and cut 1 coil off the stock spring...
etr..see if you can replace the sending unit with a known good one. Is the sensor located pre/post fuel bowl? If post bowl, then only thing that can give high spikes, if the sensor IS good, is the FPR. If it were bad fuel bowl filter or pump, you'd see low psi.
i was told today that it could be clogged injectors. if it is then i will be ordering some stage 1's and my DP tuner. but i still need to get the issue pin pointed.
Has nothing to do with injectors! Like the other fellow said, it's either a blockage or sending unit-gauge issue. The purpose of the fpr is to regulate the max psi in the fuel bowl. We're you able to blow a good supply of air through the return line all the way into the tank? To the point you could clearly hear air bubbles in the tank? If so its gotta be the fpr. As in the return fitting on the fuel bowl. Some may call the fpr the same as the ipr but thats not what I'm reffering to.
