turbo removal

turbo removal

I am trying to remove the turbo on my 95 f350 but I havent been able to get the rear bolts out of the pedistal, does any one know a good way to remove them without tearing up anything.

Pain in the a$$ for the one bolt. I used a 1/4" short 6pt socket, swivel, extensions and adaptors up to 1/2 inch and broke it loose. Swivel socket is better, but this worked.

THIS IS A 1995
REMOVAL
  1. Remove two air intake tube assembly bolts, clamps at turbocharger, crankcase breather assembly and air cleaner, and air intake tube and hoses.
  2. Remove exhaust outlet clamp from turbocharger.
  3. Raise vehicle.
  4. Remove engine charge exhaust pipe bolt from transmission, if so equipped.
  5. Remove bolts and nuts from cat to engine charge exhaust pipe, if so equipped.
  6. Loosen two bolts retaining turbocharger exhaust inlet pipe to left exhaust man.
  7. Remove bolts retaining left turbocharger exhaust inlet pipe to turbocharger exhaust inlet adapter.

  1. Loosen two bolts retaining turbocharger exhaust inlet pipe to right exhaust manifold.
  2. Remove lower bolt retaining right turbocharger exhaust inlet pipe to turbocharger exhaust inlet adapter.
  3. Lower vehicle.
  4. Remove upper bolts retaining right and left turbocharger exhaust inlet pipes to turbocharger exhaust inlet adapter.
  5. Remove right engine lift hook and bolt.

  1. Loosen four intake manifold hose clamps, and one clamp retaining compressor manifold to turbocharger.

  1. Remove compressor manifold.

  1. Remove four bolts retaining turbocharger pedestal assembly to cylinder block.
  2. Remove turbocharger assembly and disconnect electrical connectors.

  1. Remove oil gallery O-rings.
NOTE: If turbocharger is not being removed for service, install Fuel/Oil/Turbo Protective Cap Set T94T-9395-AH.

INSTALLATION
  1. Install new oil gallery O-rings.
  2. Connect turbocharger electrical connectors and install turbocharger assembly.

  1. Install four bolts retaining turbocharger pedestal assembly to engine block. Tighten to 24 Nm (18 ft lb) .
  2. Loosely install bolts retaining right and left turbocharger exhaust inlet pipes to turbocharger exhaust inlet adapter.
  3. Install compressor manifold, intake manifold hoses, and clamps.
  4. Install right engine lift hook and bolt.
  5. Raise vehicle.
  6. Tighten two right and left lower bolts (retaining turbocharger exhaust inlet pipes to turbocharger exhaust inlet adapter) to 49 Nm (36 ft lb) .
  7. Tighten four right and left bolts and nuts (retaining turbocharger exhaust inlet pipes to exhaust manifolds) to 49 Nm (36 ft lb) .
  8. Install catalytic converter to engine charge exhaust pipe bolts and nuts.
  9. Lower vehicle.
  10. Tighten two right and left upper bolts (retaining turbocharger exhaust inlet pipes to turbocharger exhaust inlet adapter) to 49 Nm (36 ft lb) .
  11. Install exhaust outlet marmon clamp to turbocharger.
  12. Install air intake tube and hose assembly, two bolts and clamps.
