UP Ppe install
Welcome to Pocket's International UP-Pipe Replacement Web Page
I found it helpful to bolt the passenger side pipe to the collector (baby's butt) on the workbench and then stick it in the proper location. Then bolt the lower end to the passenger side exhaust manifold but leave the bolts very loose. Then install the driver's side up-pipe, start the upper and lower bolts and then find 3 or 4 long extensions and a universal joint and reach wayyyyyy up to the back side bolt for the connection to the collector. You can reach this from underneath the truck. When the 4 bolts are tight on the collector (baby's butt), then install your turbo.
Next, I then loosened or even removed the lower bolts at the exhaust manifolds so I can lift the up-pipe assembly and mate it to the turbo inlet properly. There is a dowel pin that is hard to get aligned if your have the lower bolts in place. You can 'feel' when the dowel pin finds home...when that happens, hold the collector in place and install the clamp. Keep pressure on the clamp and you will ensure the dowel won't move and tighten it up. Don't over tighten or you'll break that clamp. Then go back down under the truck and reconnect the pipes to the exhaust manifolds and you are nearly finished.
Hope this helps.
